The CyberChampions Award 2014/15 was awarded on November 6th, 2014, within the Hightech.Unternehmer.Kongress 2014 (high-tech.entrepreneur.convention). All in all, the KIT teams demonstrated a strong performance. No less than six KIT foundings or founding projects reached the final round of the award this year and were allowed to pitch in front of a competent jury – which includes former prize winners of the CyberChampions. From all the finalists, the jury selected the prize winners: the categories “BestConcept” and “NewComer” as well as the INIT innovation prize were awarded.
In the category “NewComer”, the KIT team ViGEM GmbH prevailed. They received first place for their test tool for the automotive industry. They offer efficient measuring and diagnostic electronics in the shape of their product CCA (Car Communication Analyzer). The Seminars2you GmbH was awarded second prize for their product CliqMeet. Their browser based application for online meetings turn presenting and video chat into child’s play without the need to install additional software.
The Papershift GbR gained first prize in the category “BestConcept”, followed by Campusjäger GbR on second place. Both prize winners have business concepts devoted to the topic of personnel. Papershift simplifies the design of service plans – employer and employee can design working times together, online via smartphone. Campusjäger, on the other hand, supports the search for employees. In their online recruitment they use the potential of universities where there are many young talents who are potential employees.
The INIT Innovation prize is awarded for ideas and products with a special innovation potential. This year the KIT founding project 300 Microns was awarded. Their new 3D-cell-culture-systems based on foils are a progressive development, which could even make some tests on animals obsolete.
During the competition, the founder and entrepreneurial teams received valuable support from CyberGorum e.V., especially from CyberLab. All finalists profited from participating in the award and received feedback from experienced entrepreneurs. The professional pitch training of explain GmbH also contributed to the personal development of the teams. Therefore, they are even better prepared for presentations in front of investors or customers in the future. Additionally, every team got an individual image film, which can immediately be used for acquiring customers.
Apart from the prize winners, three other KIT teams reached the final: easierLife GmbH, qubr, and SearchHaus GmbH. We congratulate all prize winners and finalists on their successful participation in the CyberChampions Award 2014/2015! You can find more information on the competition and all prize winners and finalists at the CyberForum. Next year you will have the opportunity to submit your founding idea or your business idea once again. We will provide the necessary information on time.
