Paralution Labs UG develops and sells its software PARALUTION, a software library for parallel calculation of sparsely populated linear equations. The software is hardware independent and thus gives inexperienced programmers the chance to use the newest research architectures. In addition to the development and sales of the software, the startup also offers services in the fields of “mathematics” and “parallel algorithms.” In an interview, we asked the team of Paralution Labs about the idea, the startup time, and the future prospects.
The four founders of ArtiMinds Robotics GmbH have managed to receive three back-to-back awards in the fan city of Karlsruhe. The business, which was founded in August 2013, has been a pioneer in the field of robotics for some time. With their intuitive robot programming for production machines in the industry, the ArtiMinds team has already cleaned up numerous prizes since the startup.
The business scored its latest success at Robot Launch 2015. At the international competition for robot technologies, organized in Silicon Valley, the KIT team from the TechnologieRegion Karlsruhe (Karlsruhe TechnologyRegion) was able to prevail against its competitors in the category ‘Best European Startup’. ArtiMinds was the only German team nominated for the finals and won one of the coveted prizes on 09/18/2015.
Just one week before this, another competition was decided in favor of ArtiMinds. The team is among the new winners of the national WECONOMY-Awards 2015. The renowned startup prize is offered by the Wissensfabrik, UnternehmerTUM, and the Handelsblatt. In addition to nine other startups from all around Germany, the Karlsruhe team was selected by a jury and will now be coached and funded for one year.
In addition to these two competitive awards, ArtiMinds, with its “Robot Programming for Dummies”, was selected among the top 25 of the hottest startups in Germany by the HORIZONT magazine. Encouraged by this, too, ArtiMinds continues to expand and strengthen its team. We congratulate ArtiMinds on these successes and will continue to follow the path of these four young founders.

On February 12, 2015, Mirko Holzer of BrandMaker GmbH was welcomed as a guest at the KIT Entrepreneurship Talks. Holzer began a first attempt at founding while still at school. During his studies at the KIT (the University of Karlsruhe at the time), he was encouraged in his startup plans. He experimented with different ideas and is a successful entrepreneur and provider of a management system for the marketing industry today. Although Holzer “grew up” in the IT industry, his lessons learned are interesting for all founders:
